About Us
Kaleidoscope Pottery in Easthampton, Massachusetts is owned and operated by Evelyn Snyder with a lot of help from Anna Kubasek. Evelyn started in 1992 as assistant to original founder Kathy Hibshman and then-partners Barry Schechter, Peter Feitner, and Christy Knox.
The original studio was begun in Vermont circa 1978, by Kathy. Barry and Kathy moved the studio to Massachusetts and were joined in the 80's by Peter and Christy. Kathy and Barry retired around 1993 and Christy and Peter moved on to other pursuits around 1998. Christy started her own pottery business, Natural Elements, around this time.
In addition to Anna Kubasek, we have gotten much help from Leah Hughes over many years, and assistance from other assistants, friends, family, and our neighbors at One Cottage Street where our studio is located. We strive to make pottery inspired by the natural world.
Our pottery is made from stoneware and holds up to every day use. See our FAQs page for more details. Shop online Here
Please note that we are not a retail store with set hours. We are not set up for tours or retail shopping except during our open studios events. Our goal is to live a good life while making pottery in a way that keeps us happy. We are a very busy production studio. Appointments to visit us can be made, but we request that you contact us ahead of time--several weeks in advance is best, as making pottery is a very time-oriented process.
The best time to see us in our studio is during open studios twice yearly-- in the spring and the first weekend and second Saturday in December. Open Studios is the best time to visit. The studio is set up for sales and there are some real bargains available plus a chance to see where we make and fire our pottery. Go to our Events page to learn more about our Open Studios.

In Memoriam
It is with deepest respect that I share the passing of my friend and mentor, Kathy Hibshman on September 19th, 2020. Kathy started the Kaleidoscope Pottery Studio. She taught me to live life as fully as possible, seek joy every day, and try to have your cake and eat it too. She shared so much with the world. She brought much beauty to so many lives and homes and is dearly missed.

Below are some images that make me very happy to share.
